The Extra Lens - *Undercard*

This, the second release from The Extra Glenns née The Extra Lens, is a nice release from John Darnielle and Franklin Bruno.

Darnielle, of course, is known as The Mountain Goats (though the group's size has increased from a solitary John), and Bruno's not well known for anything, but has been a part of Nothing Painted Blue.

Don't let the name deceive you. This is clearly music that John Darnielle had a hand in writing. I don't mean this as a genuine criticism, it's just that a lot of the music sounds like something that would come from his hoofed outlet.

There are some great tracks here, and the album flows very well. I've no complaints.

Stereolab - *Emperor Tomato Ketchup*

There's nothing quite like this strange, post-rock outfit Stereolab. Influenced as much by Krautrock as anything, this is a group from London that sings in equal parts English and French.

Only in London.

Really, Emperor Tomato Ketchup is one in a string of excellent releases from Stereolab. It's fun, exciting, and, don't you know it, just a blast to listen to. Now, to see them live...
